“Dolly and I even made music together”, Dr. Wang recalls fondly how he and Dolly collaborated in a music project, in which Dolly sang an old country song “The Cruel War” and Dr. Wang played the Chinese violin erhu. Their song made it Dolly’s album “Those were the days”!
“It was an ultimate joint venture between the East and the West”, Dr. Wang said. “On the album, there are names of many famous including Dolly, Allison Krause and others, and then ‘Ming Wang’, then people asked: ‘Who is that?’” Dr. Wang beamed.
“When we finished recording, Dolly and I did something impromptu”. I started playing “Danny Boy” with my erhu, and Dolly joined singing! It was beautiful and memorable!
