The cornea is the front cover of the eye. Corneal dystrophies and degenerations are genetic and degenerative diseases that cause loss of sight, especially in patients with family history of these diseases.

Wang Vision was a part of the original research team that discovered the first major gene mutation responsible for hereditary corneal dystrophies. The complete sequencing of the 3 billion base-pair human genome and the impressive advancement of molecular genetics in recent decades have ushered in a new era of diagnosis and treatment of hereditary eye diseases.
